GC Compliance Officer

Summary of
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Gaming Commission Executive Director, the general objective consists of ensuring that effective procedures and internal controls in gaming and non-gaming departments comply with all federal and state regulations, evaluating compliance with company policies and procedures, and by recommending changes that enhance controls over company assets and/or improve regulatory compliance.
Position will have extensive interaction with all levels of staff within the Gaming Commission, enterprise management, patrons, and casino staff.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Monitors shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, storage, etc.
of gaming devices for security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ensures accuracy of testing records.
Utilizes appropriate testing software and equipment for the purpose of testing gaming device computer control chips for verification of validity and authorized programming.
Ensures that the gaming center fulfills required regulatory reporting and training requirements including but not limited to:
Title 31, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), State and Commission reports.
Assess the proper accountability of assets by conducting inventory counts as needed.
Observe, analyze and make recommendations concerning compliance with the NIGC's Minimum Internal Control Stands (MICS), Tribal Internals Control Standards (TICS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and all other applicable standards with respect to regulation and protection of assets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma.
Prefer 1 year regulatory, auditing or investigative experience and/or training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must exhibit strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills with the ability to proactively deal with all levels of internal and external management, as well as casino licensees.
Ability to follow orders and directives readily.
Must possess proficient technical skills in the use of computers, related software and electronic gaming devices.
Must be able to analyze and interpret technical and government procedures and standards related to gaming.
Must be able to use investigative skills to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and compile findings in investigative reports.
Ability to exercise good judgment at all times, including under stressful, high-pressure situations.
Physical and mental alertness and the ability to concentrate.
Ability to multi-task and be able to pay attention to many things at the same time.
Certifications:
Must be able to maintain a Gaming License.
Must possess or receive Gaming Commissioner training certification within two years of employment.
Conditions of Employment:
The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace.
Must submit to and pass applicable drug test.
Must apply for and pass criminal background check for Key Gaming License.
Must possess current driver's license and be insurable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
